Tips for Garage Sales
Garage and yard sales are a great way to spend a day; finding bargains is just one of the perks. Heading out in the morning with a long list of yard sale lists can be both fun and exciting. You never know what you will find, vintage toys, a wine rack that fits perfectly in your house, golf clubs or any number of other furniture. Here are a few tips to make the most of your garage sale time.
Keep Your Eyes Open – Many garage sales are not advertised in the newspaper. Look for signs and posters when you are driving around. You may end up finding the deal of a lifetime at a sale you didn’t know about when you left the house.
Cash – Take plenty of cash and small change. Often you can find items for just .25 cents so having plenty of quarters can be handy when paying.
Necessities – You should wear a hat, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes. Going on a garage sale hunt can be an all day affair so be prepared.
Be Early – It pays to get there early. Arriving late means all of the good stuff will be gone. Do not show up before the sale starts and ring the doorbell, this is rude and inconsiderate.
Take a Truck – If you are looking for big stuff, like fridge or patio furniture make sure you have the proper vehicle to haul it.
Spending a day hitting garage sales can be relaxing and finding some bargains is just the icing on the cake.
